The Gonenim Neighborhood Continues to Renew, With 216 Units

The Jerusalem Local Planning and Building Committee recommends that the District Committee approve the plan to build the Emek Atzvaim Tower at the Pat Junction gas station complex, where 216 housing units will be built alongside public buildings and extensive commercial and employment areas.

The Jerusalem Municipality continues to work vigorously to renew the old neighborhoods across the city. The Jerusalem Local Planning and Building Committee decided to recommend that the District Committee approve the plan to establish the Emek Atzvaim Tower at the Pat Junction gas station complex. As part of the plan, located near the light rail route, 216 new housing units are expected to be built, along with commercial and employment areas and public buildings.
The plan approved by the local committee proposes creating a high-quality residential complex with mixed uses, which will significantly improve the quality of life of the residents of the Gonenim neighborhood. As part of the project, which will cover an area of approximately 5.7 dunams, the old gas station complex at the corner of Yaakov Pat and Rabbi Herzog streets is expected to be demolished, and an integrated building will be built in its place, including a 30-floor residential tower, with underground parking and 4 basement floors to be used for commerce and employment.
The project, which will be built near the Emek Gerakom municipal nature park, is expected to create a connection between the Gonenim neighborhood and the park by building a bridge for pedestrians and cyclists from Hananel Street, through the project and over Herzog Street. In addition, the project will include public buildings such as kindergartens, daycare centers, a synagogue and more. A separate six-floor building is also planned, which will include approximately 3,300 square meters of public buildings, including a school. In addition, approximately 6,500 square meters is planned as part of the project for commercial and employment space.
