657 New Apartments in Three Towers

The District Planning and Building Committee approved for deposit the Iceland-Mexico plan in Jerusalem, which was submitted by the planning company Capital, which accompanied the residents and promoted the urban development plan for them.
The plan proposes demolishing 115 existing housing units and building 657 new apartments in their place, in three towers of approximately 40 stories and two ten-story buildings, near a light rail station in the city's Kiryat Menachem neighborhood. It is also proposed that the complex include 2,515 square meters of commercial space, 1,830 square meters of employment space and 2,495 square meters of public space.
The plan emphasizes transit and accessibility to the station through the creation of four pedestrian crossings, which will connect Henrietta Szold and Mexico streets.
The project joins another large complex that Capital Planning Company is promoting in the neighborhood, the New Iceland evacuation-and-construction project, with a scope of approximately 700 units, which has been approved for deposit and is being prepared for a permit application, as well as three nearby evacuation-and-construction projects that are close to deposit.
