Work is currently under way to develop a new neighborhood to be built on an area of about 400 dunams owned by the state, which will include 1,257 state units plus 1,353 private units. The Givat Hamatos neighborhood in Jerusalem is built on a hill 813 meters above sea level and lies between the Har Homa and Talpiot neighborhoods.

In mid-2021, the winners of 10 land complexes in the neighborhood that were marketed by the Israel Land Authority were announced, including 1,253 housing units along with commercial areas. These days, road and infrastructure works are being completed in Givat HaMatos, along with drainage and sewage on the other roads of Givat HaMatos, and construction crews are preparing the site. The neighborhood, which will undoubtedly be one of the most beautiful neighborhoods of the capital, will offer its residents community and commercial buildings, a green park area near the neighborhood, and improved infrastructure with transportation routes that will allow full and convenient access to the city center.
