The Legendary Hotel in Central Jerusalem That Hosted Ben Gurion and Golda Will Become a 9-Floor Building

The "Yossi Abrahami" group announced today the launch of the "Eden" project in Jerusalem, which will soon get under way, located on the site of the legendary Eden Hotel on Histadrut Street, at the corner of Hillel Street in the city center, where heads of state used to stay and hold meetings and press conferences.
The "Eden" hotel was founded in 1938 and played an important role in the history of the city of Jerusalem and the young State of Israel, because of its proximity to the building that housed Israel's first Knesset, on King George Street. Its guests included David Ben Gurion, who even lived there for more than a year, Golda Meir and others. The hotel is located in the center of Jerusalem, close to the Mamilla mall, the Mahane Yehuda market and the Western Wall. In addition, near the project, the light rail line that will connect all points of the city is planned and already approved.
The project, which was finally approved by the Jerusalem District Planning and Building Committee last September, will strictly preserve the facade of the legendary hotel, but the building itself will be demolished. A 9-floor building will be built in its place, including a commercial floor on the ground level and 9 residential floors above. In the project, 84 housing units are offered for sale in a mix that includes 2 to 5 rooms and penthouses. Architect Michael Azoulai, who has extensive experience in building conservation, is in charge of the project's design.
The project, which will be built to a green standard, also includes a business lounge, a gym, an indoor heated pool and a toddlers' pool, a treatment complex, a Pilates space, a shared workspace, a synagogue, a meeting room and residents' club, as well as robotic parking.
The Vice President of Marketing and Sales of the Yossi Abrahami Group, Yaffe Sadan, says that "the project has passed a committee decision and is on its way to receiving an excavation and shoring permit. It will be built in an area where there is not much new construction and the supply of apartments is very limited. In addition, unlike all the towers in the area, we will build a building of only 9 floors. The project offers a living experience in an ideal location close to all the heritage, culture and entertainment centers, as well as a piece of history. As part of the pre-sale, 18 apartments in the project have already been sold and contract signings with buyers have begun. We are experiencing great demand for the project, especially from Jews in the diaspora."
