Towers Up to 30 Stories and 408 Apartments

Jerusalem renews itself: where hundreds of new apartments will be built
The Jerusalem District Planning and Building Committee decided to advance urban renewal plans in the capital with a total scope of about 700 housing units

The committee decided to deposit a plan that includes nine residential buildings with 97 housing units. The new plan offers three towers with a maximum height of up to 30 stories in total and offers 408 housing units and a commercial-public frontage facing Shlomo Ben Yosef Street. About 82 of all the housing units will be small apartments. In addition, the plan emphasizes public space in its area and offers public spaces of about 1,800 square meters, public buildings and institutions and open public spaces, as well as passages for all the residents of the neighborhood.

Dan Keinan, Jerusalem District Planning Director at the Planning Administration, noted that "these are important plans that allow the renewal of old buildings while making significant improvements to the skeleton and the public space, mixing uses and improving the level of municipal services, which help turn the urban fabric into a diverse and interesting activity. This is especially true in complexes located along the light rail routes. In this way, renewal plans improve the quality of urban life in Jerusalem and make it possible to respond to the demand for housing in the city while avoiding, as far as possible, building in open spaces."
