Jerusalem is on the right track

"Jerusalem will be the first city in Israel to have a light rail network. By the end of 2025, Jerusalem residents will be able to stop traveling by private car and board the train from almost anywhere in the city," says Sahar Mizrahi, manager of Shapir's railway division, about the megaproject that will change the face of the city

"Jerusalem is the first city to have a rail network. The train that starts at French Hill knows how to travel on the Red Line and then switch to the Green Line. Unlike Tel Aviv, where each line and its systems are of a different model and the trains cannot 'talk' to each other, the train in Jerusalem knows how to navigate the route according to demand, and if there is demand on a certain line, it will be possible to divert from red to green at any moment and create new travel routes," Mizrahi explains, noting that the progress of the project and the works is on schedule, thanks to the successful cooperation between the municipality, the transportation master plan team, and the Ministries of Finance and Transportation. "This successful triangle and the cooperation with the Jerusalem Municipality and the transportation master plan team allow the work in the field to be carried out without delays and at the highest possible level."
