Old Katamon Is Being Renewed, One of Jerusalem's Most Sought-After Neighborhoods

A year after its deposit was approved, a plan for evacuation (pinui) and construction (binui) at 3 Bruria Street in the Old Katamon neighborhood of Jerusalem was deposited this week, offering 71 new units. The plan, in an evacuation-and-construction format, proposes the demolition of an existing building and the construction of two new buildings for residences and commercial and public areas on the lower floors.

The Bruria complex, with an area of 1.8 dunams, is located at the intersection of Bruria Street and Yehoshua ben Gamla Street in Jerusalem. There is currently a 24-unit building on the property.

In place of the existing building, whose demolition is planned, it is proposed to build 71 new units in two new 10-story buildings from the level of Bruria Street and above the basement floors for parking and services.
